May Mission Month
This is the start of May Mission Month and the overarching mission theme for this month is two-fold: First, keeping "In Step" with where God is headed and what He is doing in the world around us. And secondly, 'Pray and Go' into our own community... Global Interaction has produced a number of messages for this month that are drawn from a short film they have produced called "In Step"—a glimpse into what becoming a follower of Jesus looks like for former Muslims in Malawi (Africa) ... These will be the messages or sermons that we will show during the first four Sundays in May.
Of course, we will also have various mission/missionary segments each Sunday for you to watch as well, along with some interesting competitions that the children can participate in.
Mission Month Song
During May Mission Month we also like to feature a song that resonates with our purpose as a church: to know Jesus deeply, and make Him known widely. This year, the song that has been selected is "Build Your Kingdom Here" by Rend Collective. This song is a petition to God to use us to fulfil His purpose, and a reminder to us that we are missionaries for Christ right where we are.
Mission Spot
We will also feature a Mission Spot every Sunday in May. This week, we are looking at Bush Church Aid. BCA aims to support and equip people living in remote and regional Australia, in order to reach Australia for Christ. You can visit their website here>> www.bushchurchaid.com.au
Kids' Art Competition
The Mission Committee are running a Colouring Competition each week during May. The winner for this week will be chosen on Friday 8th May, and they will get to choose which of the featured mission organisations will receive a $50 donation.
